Gordon Shanks - Adviser
Gordon started in financial services with a 5 year period at a well known home service insurance company gaining experience in general financial planning.
There then followed a 2 year period working as an independent financial adviser with a small firm gaining valuable experience in the independent field dealing with all types of enquiry such as protection, pensions and investments.
Following this, Gordon gained more experience with an 8 year spell at one of the country’s leading building societies before being taken over by a bank. This time was spent expanding his knowledge of financial planning processes and gaining experience in the mortgage market. During this time, Gordon also moved into several new positions including training & competence and time in their compliance department.
Gordon then joined the original BMA Services, providing bespoke independent financial advice to members of the medical profession ranging from students and junior doctors through to hospital consultants and GPs. During this time Gordon was involved in providing holistic financial advice covering all areas.
Following the decision for BMA Services to become “Multi-tied” Gordon felt that his clients deserved to continue to receive independent financial advice and joined IMFS as a Director.
